A 22 yr old Marine was brought home today, he was killed by an IED on Oct 20th in Afghanistan. He grew up here in my hometown and went to school with my daughter who's in the Navy. His funeral service is scheduled for this saturday and I read in the paper that his funeral is to be protested by some radical church group out of Kansas. It seems that these bunch of so called christians get their jollies by traveling the country and protesting at fallen servicemens funerals. I saw some footage on the news and the signs they carry are unbelieveable, things like Thank God for dead US soldiers and IED's. I just couldnt believe my eyes and to think that the families of these fallen heroes have so see these people protesting and carrying these signs just makes my blood boil. T
First of all, I am sorry to hear of the loss of one of your hometown hero's
These people are NOT Christians! They may call themselves whatever they want, but their actions and deeds speaks for itself. They are to be pitied and the Lord will judge them as He sees fit.
They arrived here in Vermont to protest the gay marriage bill. While I also do not condone such legislation, the actions of this group was best described as despicable. Shame on them.
There is a Christian Motorcycle group that travels to these same funerals and acts as a shield between these radicals and the family. They are a good group and perform an admirable service all on their own nickle. God bless them.

If it is the group I am thinking of they have gotten national attention for this. Many times, the info that they will protest draws out other support groups who help to protect the sanctity of the funeral. I agree with Mr J that these people are not Christians - they are zealots in all the negative sense of the word.
